Jason GUAN

Raw Material Procurement Global Senior Manager, BASF (China) Co., Ltd., Chair of TfS Workstream 5 (GHG Scope 3 Emissions) Asia

Jason GUAN joined BASF in 2011 as Head of Procurement for BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd. Since then, he has held various positions in the Greater China Procurement Center. He is currently the team leader of BASF Global Procurement team in Shanghai and the ambassador of BASF Global Supplier CO2 Management Program in Asia Pacific.

He has over 20 years of experience in the procurement and supply sectors of multinational companies, working in the fine, civil, and consumer goods industries. Thanks to the rapid development of China and the global chemical industry in the past 20 years, Jason GUAN has accumulated rich experience in international sourcing through many project-based procurement cases and has obtained first-hand experience in value development, cost-saving, process optimization, system architecture, and organizational change in the field of procurement. He has established and continued to implement successful procurement strategies within different companies.

As a founding member of TfS, BASF has always been committed to promoting sustainable development in the chemical industry. Since 2014, BASF and East China University of Science and Technology have jointly developed a sustainability training program for its Chinese suppliers, which has trained more than 3,000 suppliers. Jason GUAN has supported the project since the very beginning and has been nominated as the Chair of TfS Asia Workstream 5 (GHG and PCF Scope 3) since March 2023.

Jason GUAN graduated from the East China University of Science and Technology in Applied Chemistry and holds an MBA from Sauder School of Business, UBC, Canada. He is a certified CPSM from the Institute for Supply Management.
